Street Connect Christmas Care Packs

This year the Serpentine Jarrahdale Grammar School Primary and Secondary School Captains are jumping on board with Anglicare and taking part in the 'Street Connect Christmas Care Pack initiative'.

Street Connect is a youth friendly outreach service which assists homeless and "at risk" young people aged 15 – 25 in the Perth inner city area in making positive life changes. Street connect provides information on a range of issues such as accommodation, physical and mental health along with support, crisis intervention and case management.

The Christmas Care Pack initiative provides gift packs to help make Christmas a brighter time for the young people of WA living on the streets of Perth.

Students in the Primary school are donating items such as reusable drink bottles, basic in-ear headphones, sunscreen and sunglasses to add to the 'care packs'. The Secondary School students will also be completing a collection within their Pastoral Care Groups.

On Friday 24 November the school will hold a Bake Sale to raise money to go towards gift vouchers to include in the care packs.

We hope that by the SJGS community getting involved and donating a range of items it can make Christmas a little brighter for the WA youth who are less fortunate.
