SJGS Celebrates World Down Syndrome Day

The 21st March each year is a day to celebrate those within our community who have Down Syndrome. The 21/3 hold significance as the Down syndrome is also known as Trisomy 21, meaning that the 21st chromosome has an extra copy. People with Down Syndrome lead normal lives and are accepted into the community just like any other person with a physical or intellectual disability.

Each year, the day is celebrated with a 'Rock your Socks' day, in which its ok to be an individual and stand out of the crown with coloured or odd socks.

We hope that next year the whole school can be involved and Rock their socks on the 21st March!
