Primary School Athletics Carnival

The Primary School Athletics Carnival was a GREAT success, and we were spoiled with such beautiful weather too! The competition was fierce but friendly as Whitby and Yarrabah went head to head for the winners title. Yarrabah got off to an early lead after a very convincing win with their war cry, but Whitby came back strong during the team games making it a tight race for both Houses. With activities ranging from Tug of War to Long Jump, Pass Ball to Sack Races, Hurdles to Vortex throwing, and so much more, there were plenty of activities for everyone to be involved in all day long. Students, staff and parents all joined in the fun and had an absolute ball. Mr Taylor kept us all entertained on the loud speaker and kept everyone on schedule for a very smooth day. Sprints and relays finished off the afternoon before students gathered in their Houses and waited anxiously to find out the results of their efforts. And the winner is.............YARRABAH! Well done to all students in both Houses for contributing to the final scores and being excellent team players.

Our individual champions and runners up from Year 3 to 6 were announced, with scores compiled from their achievements in various events throughout the term. Our winners are listed below and will be formally congratulated and presented with their medallions at an upcoming Primary School assembly.
