Advice on Returning to School: Updated on 30/01/2020

Novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV)

The Australian Government has issued the following advice to the Australian Community regarding the Novel Coronavirus, which is based on the latest medical advice. This advice follows new recommendations recieved today from the Australian Government Chief Medical Officer on behalf of the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC). The AHPPC has recommended that effective immediately:

 - People who have been in contact with confirmed novel coronavirus cases must be isolated in their home for 14 days following exposure.

 - Returned travellers who have been in Hubei Province of China must be isolated in their home for 14 days after leaving Hubei Province other than for seeking immediate medical care.

This means that:

  • If your child has been to the HUBEI PROVINCE in China, we have been instructed by the Australian Government Chief Medical Officer to NOT ALLOW students to attend school until they have been isolated in their home for 14 days once returning from HUBEI PROVINCE.
  • IF your child has returned from mainland China or Hong Kong within the last 14 days, parents are asked NOT to send their children to school. Although the risk to children is very low, this is a precautionary approach to ensure the safest possible environment for children here at Court Grammar School.

  • If either of these apply to your family, please let us know, via Student Services.

Thank you for your support in this matter
