Celebrating the Olden Days

 

Today our staff and students from Year 1 dressed up in costumes to celebrate the "Olden Days". They were transported back in time and took part in olden day school activities which provided them with a real sense of what life was like in the past. 

 

Activities included sewing, butter churning, slate writing, washing clothes in buckets, playing marbles, skittles and pick up sticks. Students were amazed at the old technology when they got to see cameras, record players, cassette tapes and phones with a dial! They had an amazing day but after realising how easy we have it these days, we think they were pretty keen to get back to modern day living!
